Privacy Policy
Effective: September 1, 2026 | Last updated: September 1, 2026
1. Scope and Controller
This Privacy Policy applies to the Redd app, related websites, and services provided by the Redd operator. The Redd operator is responsible for the personal information described in this Policy. Send privacy questions and rights requests to redd@gmail.com.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: login identifiers, username, date of birth or age confirmation, and other registration details you choose to provide.
- Profile information: profile photo, interests, bio, optional voice card, and room history.
- Rooms and public content: room titles, topics, descriptions, schedules, Topic Relay selections, room backgrounds, reactions, and live speech.
- Private communications: text messages, photos, and voice notes exchanged between mutual connections. Voice notes are stored content you intentionally create and send; they are not recordings of live calls.
- Safety and support information: reported users or rooms, reasons, descriptions, evidence, blocked accounts, appeals, and support communications.
- Transaction information: Coin balances, purchase and usage history, product identifiers, and transaction or receipt status provided by Apple. Apple processes payment credentials; we do not receive complete payment-card numbers.
2.2 Information Generated When You Use Redd
- Interaction and social information: follow choices, mutual connections, rooms joined or created, hand raises, speaking activity, host actions, and reactions. A one-way follow is not disclosed to the other user unless the connection becomes mutual.
- Call and voice metadata: participants, start and end times, duration, connection status, network quality, and error information. Redd does not record or store the audio or video content of live rooms or private calls, but processes it in real time to provide communication.
- Device and log information: device model, operating system and app version, language, time zone, IP address, network type, crash logs, performance data, security events, and advertising identifiers only if actually used with any consent required by law.
- Approximate location: country or general region inferred from an IP address for security, language, compliance, and service availability. We do not collect precise location unless a specific feature separately explains the need and requests permission.
3. Device Permissions
| Permission | Purpose | When Required |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone | Speaking in voice rooms, creating a voice card or voice note, and joining private calls | Only when using a voice feature |
| Camera | Joining a one-to-one video call; the camera can be turned off at any time | Not required for audio-only calls |
| Photos or Media Library | Selecting a profile photo or sending a photo in a private message | Optional; limited photo access may be available |
| Notifications | Room reminders, messages, calls, and account security notices | Optional |
You can withdraw device permissions in system settings. We will stop accessing information through that permission, but related features may no longer work. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was valid before permission was withdrawn.
4. How We Use Information
- create and maintain accounts and verify that users are at least 18 years old;
- recommend relevant live or scheduled rooms and provide voice rooms, connections, messaging, and calls;
- transmit and store profile information and messages, photos, or voice notes you choose to send;
- process Apple In-App Purchases, Coin balances, and digital-item use;
- send essential service notices and notifications you allow;
- diagnose errors, measure performance, and improve the service;
- detect spam, fraud, underage use, security attacks, and Community Guidelines violations;
- handle reports, blocks, appeals, support, and account deletion requests; and
- meet legal obligations, enforce our Terms, and protect users, Redd, and the public.
5. Legal Bases
Depending on applicable law, we process information to perform our agreement with you, with your consent, to meet legal obligations, and for legitimate interests such as safety, abuse prevention, and service improvement. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as needed with:
- Other users and the public: public profile details, room information, and live speech are visible to room participants or other users. Mutual connections can see their connection status and communicate privately.
- Service providers: vendors supporting cloud hosting, content delivery, real-time communications, push notifications, support, safety, moderation, analytics, and crash diagnostics. They may process information only under our instructions.
- Apple: for app distribution, In-App Purchases, refunds, receipt validation, and platform features, subject to Apple's own policies.
- Legal and safety recipients: courts, law enforcement, regulators, or relevant parties where legally justified to investigate fraud or security events, protect safety, or enforce legal rights.
- Business transaction participants: relevant parties to a merger, financing, reorganization, or asset transfer, subject to lawful confidentiality protections.
- Parties you direct us to share with: when you expressly request or separately consent to sharing.
7. Moderation and Reports
To protect the community, we process reported accounts, rooms, content, report descriptions, and supporting evidence and may review related account activity and security logs. We do not routinely review private communications. We may review them when a participant reports and submits the relevant content, when necessary to investigate a serious safety event, or when legally required.
8. Retention
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, considering account status, service needs, safety, disputes, backup cycles, and legal obligations:
- account information and social connections are generally retained until account deletion or no longer needed;
- private messages, photos, and voice notes are retained until deleted, the account is deleted, or no longer needed, although backup removal may take additional time;
- Redd does not record live rooms or private calls; related metadata is retained only as needed for operations, safety, and compliance;
- transaction, report, security, and support records may remain after account deletion for legal, financial, anti-fraud, and dispute requirements; and
- de-identified aggregate data that can no longer reasonably identify you may be retained longer.
9. International Processing
Redd and its service providers may process information outside your country or region. Where required, we use contractual safeguards, access controls, encryption, or other appropriate protections. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access restrictions, logging, permissions management, and incident response. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your credentials, share personal information carefully, and report suspicious activity promptly.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
- access or obtain a copy of your personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- delete information or delete your account through Settings;
- withdraw consent or restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive portable data where applicable;
- complain to your local data protection or regulatory authority; and
- receive equal service when exercising privacy rights.
You can edit your profile, manage notifications, review submitted reports, manage blocked accounts, and delete your account in Redd. You may also email redd@gmail.com. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request and will respond within the period required by law.
12. Age Restriction
Redd is not directed to anyone under 18, and people under 18 may not use the service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, email redd@gmail.com. After verification, we will restrict or terminate the account and delete associated information as required by law.
13. Recommendations and Automated Processing
We may recommend topics and rooms based on interests, rooms joined, language, approximate region, and interactions. Recommendations support content discovery and do not independently make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. You can influence recommendations by changing your interests and activity.
14. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Policy as our product, law, or data practices change. We will update the date above and provide notice through Redd, this page, or another reasonable method for material changes. We will request consent again where required.
